For those that have experience with bugshields, whats the best brand out there in terms of fitment and install method. I am looking for one that installs with clips instead of double sided tape. Is OEM the best? If so are there comparable brands out there? Thanks in advance.

How serious are 2003 Matrix manual transmission issues? I'm considering buying a Matrix from a family member. It's at 200,000 km (124,000 miles) presently, and had transmission failure at 180,000 km. Replaced with a used transmission w/ 40,000 km.

Wondering how much more life I can expect. If the replacement goes 180,000 I'm golden, but complaints at Edmunds are all at 100,000 km, more or less, which would not give me more than a few years on the used tranny.

Price is good and I know the car's history, so I'm tempted, but not if it goes bang after a couple years.

Does anybody know where to get any of these ...Or a place that repairs matrix seat covers.

My daughter owns a 2007 Toyota Matrix which seems to have a mind of its own. I was driving along and the engine decided to just plain stop running. I waited a while and the car restarted. Rather then risk driving it 20 miles to the garage I had it towed. My garage mechanic could not find anything wrong at first inspection. A while later he called and stated he ran the car for a while and it then again stopped running. Does anyone have an idea as to what the problem may be? I believe the warranty is only for 3 years and if that is the case it is out of warranty. The only other recourse is to take it to a Toyota dealer and have them run their OBD2 tests to see if they can come up with an answer. Any suggestions are appreciated. :headbang:

Car 05 matrix xrs. The problem -I change one of my tires and since than air pressure light is on. I reset it all the time but it still comes back on! I took it back to Firestone, where I change the tire, but they said it not them may be the air pressure sistem has a problem and to take it to the dealer. Do I have air monitoring sistem in the valve or it is connected to the ABS as I was explained at Firestone?

I recently bought a 07 Matrix XR Sport package, 74,000 KMS I bought it at a local toyota dealer, on thier inspection they revieled the car needs a head gasket as it was leaking engine oil externally between the head and block, it goes in next week.
My question is has anyone had the same issue?

I wanted to see how this looks like on their matrix.
I was investigating a weird vibration from my car for the past 10km it comes and goes. Yesterday i noticed some play where the passenger's side drive shaft enters the transmission. I believe this is were the carrier bearing lies. Does everyone's shaft have that much play or does it appear that my bearing is worn out. The driver's side does not have this much play. Thanks for checking this out.

I could use help figuring out the sequence to remove the rear wheel bearing hub assymbly on a '06 Matrix XR (AWG, with ABS). The (12mm?) bolts from the inside of the flange appear pretty unacessable without either a special tool, or the axle being pulled inward, away from the flange, so a socket can properly seat on the nuts. Might it say what size the axle nut is? I don't have one that size and will need to get one from the shop I'm getting the bearing assymbly from.

My friend wants to upgrade his four door speakers but doesn't want to pay to get them installed. I was wondering if anyone had pictures on how to remove the door panels because he does not want to break anything or start without some prior knowledge. Thank you
