Greetings all!

I have a 2001 2 litre Rav4 and just a few days ago this problem came about. I was driving through a bumpy terrain and after I come to a stand still and the engine switched off, I can't start the car up ( all the lights are off when I turn the key). I opened the bonnet and see that the cable connecting the battery has been dislodge. After I reconnect the cable, I still can't start the car up. It tries to, as the battery is still working, but the engine doesn't fire up. Then I notice that the A/T oil temp light has lit up. I tried another several time and still there was no success. Would anyone please advise me what the problem could be and how to resolve it. Thank you

I'm the second owner of my little trucklit (I think it's neat). She now has 101,000 miles on her and I'm thinking she might need a new timing belt soon. I consider myself an OK mecanic(even if I can't spell it).Should I undertake this task myself.What do you think?

Do the Defrost, AC and recircle buttons lights up? (Whether they are pushed or not, i.e. The "AC" "Defrost" ....)
They do not in my friends 04 L and I am thinking they are supposed to?

I have done quite a bit of searching on the forum and have not really seen an answer to this question.

I have found the pin outs for the 20 pin connector on the JBL head unit and they list the front and rear speakers as low level outputs.

The question is can these be used to make an RCA connector to go into an aftermarket amplifer? and if so what do you use for the ground (pin 16)?

This is for a 2005 RAV4

Would really like to go with a factory HU and I don't like to use high level inputs to feed an amplifier

Please help, the engine light came on and codes listed where P0500 and P1135. Also the speedo is not working (P0500). Are these two code problems related?

Hi all I replced the pre cat left lambda sensor after a heater fault with a Denso DOX 0242 which I was told even though the part number was different this was the correct part with a new number we now get error code P0125 this is a coolant error but I dont think thats the problem my code reader comes up FUEL SYS 1 AND 2 0L-FAULT after about 5 minutes from cold by which point the water temp shows 85 C if you reset the fault the error comes back on after a short time even if the water temp is up at 90 C. Both lambdas are reading between .15v and .8v

What is going on please help

hi guys.

ive got a 1994 rav4 and the damn thing will not start. there was no warning signs at all i just got in it one morning and it would not turn over.

i have replaced the dizzy and the dizzy cap and still nothing so i was wondering if any of you guys had any thoughts?
ive also heard that the immobiliser on the ravs can fail and was hoping someone has a wiring diagram so that i can remove it in order to eliminate that as a problem.

I have a chance to get a set of used OEM step bars for my 2003 Rav4 for a good price. Would there be any fitment issues given that they're from a 2004 Rav4?

My wife just purchased a 2010 Rav4 Limited. It did not come with HomeLink like my Highlander. She's trying to figure out where to put her garage door opener. The sun shade is too thick to clip it on. I was wondering what other do? :confused: Thanks in advance.

Well, impressive "complaint" forum. I am not complaining nor looking for error code explanations ;)

I have tried to find ANY information on 2GRFE turbos or compressor kits and must say that european net is empty on this. I know that guys in NA and Australia have much more resources and market possibilities on getting install-ready kits for various Toyota engines.

So, here comes the question: do you know where can I get some (preferably) compressor kits for 2GRFE in RAV4? If so, please share what you know. Turboing this engine is quite nice, but without redoing transmission (costs!) I am considering turbo as second solution compared to compressor kit.

I know that tuning of 268hp is already kind of weird. But is it really? ;)

Keep my fingers crossed that somebody had already been looking & finally found the same :)

I am planning on getting a set of 17" steel rims

What is the average tire wear you guys are getting on the first set. Have a 07 with 24K so far. What is the best tire to replace it with? Mine are Yokohama MA. I do hunt and get back in some places that could use good traction but haven't had any problems so far with these. Just wondered if the stock tires are a good replacement or is there something better.

A friend checked my tranmission oil and said I need to change it, but he said that depending on the car, you need to either change it while running it or not...does anyone know how to change a transmission oil/fluid of a 97 RAV4? :confused: Should the car be on?

How big is the job?
Is a dealership the best place to go??

What kind of expense is involved??

I'm preparing to replace the exhaust system on my '99 Rav4, and have acquired everything from the cat back. The front pipe is really rusted, and would be a good idea to change it. Is this a dealer only part? Know anyplace I can get one reasonably priced? This rav has Cal emissions, but is in NJ. Thanks,
