we cant afford the required repairs... 600-900 for a new head gasket...

spending what time i can with her... just cleaned her today... was hot and humid... i was sweating like hell. like i had a hose on my head. i stepped into the van for 3 seconds and my body reacted... here are some pix... took me about 3 hours i hope to finish her up on friday or monday. i really hope we dont see her go... my parents are still deciding... its not the safest van but shes truly a work of art. i dont want the sienna Bring Back the Previa!!! OR, keep the jap name and BRING THE ESTIMA TO THE STATES!!! Or the alphard-wow that thing is so beautiful

view from inside garage

cd player works!!! ac dont...

im so happy to get the carpet so clean!!! and thats the stereo amp???

listened to a few tunes on my Acoustimass 3

some of those paper towels are just soaked with my sweat

i stepped on the bumper and it fell out a little bit.. the previous owner let her daughter practice driving like 5 years ago... and she hit a

tree... it fell off then...

our other golden baby

EWWW dirty!!! gotta swipe that out...

along with this

so THIS is a speaker!!! i discovered this a couple days ago... i thought it was an air vent the first time i saw it

other side..

damn rust... i think it holds water... also the front doors... they hold water at the bottom... water spilled out when i opened them
that afternoon after heavy rain in NYC-Bay Ridge brooklyners swore of a tornado touching down. weird.. it being nyc...

my dad said this was like this when we got it... probably from a minivan hater...

driver side... i hate to see all the electronics hanging out...

first time i ever saw it in real life... its cool.. but very dirty.. i was tempted to take out a dip stick... but my mom came out

this is where rain flows in.. after last night and this mornings shower, the right A pillar was soaked again.

topcorner

bottom corner

sprayed with her febreeze before this pic... Gosh i love this van.

i went driving for my third time with my family in the civic... i think i did VERY well.. i dunno.. for some reason, the feel of a car is already known.

i actually got bored... i was in there for only 20 mins too.. i wanted to join traffic.. all we did was make circles around a block... max speed was 20 mph

i want to learn parking ASAP.

forgot to add- previous owner and mechanic told my parents not to waste money on this van anymore... i say otherwise... we wasted to much damn
money on that american car already... the civic has had no issues at all since we got it in 2001.- american-japanese/Plymouth_Dodge-Chrysler/Toyota_Lexus/Honda_Acura...

btw, anyone see the smart fortwo on the news this morning? channel nbc or Fox was doing a news report.... i wouldnt get it... i'd go with a prius or civic instead. but thats me...

The van looks sweet after you cleaned it up.That's what I'm talkin' about. Yes it has some rust and it will cost a bit to get it back to where they would want it, but it will be worth it. Have they looked at a used low-mileage Japanese engine for it? Also, the leaks could be caused by rust. I would take it to a body shop and ask them. From what I've been told, many mechanics don't like these vans because the engines aren't easily accessible. Did the mechanic say that because he doesn't want owork on it or is it really not worth repairing. The vehicle was free. Did all of them expect it to be healthy? I would keep it, but after actually owning two Previas, I'm biased.

yea the inside looks much much better it had cement/brick and concrete grains and bits in it before... my parents brough the van to the mechanic and had that rust spot on the driver side sprayed with paint... im sure they know spraying it with paint doesnt solve it but it'll slow it down.

look for an engine, no. nothing's wrong with the engine, just the head gasket had a hold or whatever you call it...

yea, i saw the site with that Tim guy who replaced the head gasket on his 1991? yea gotta take out other things too... seems like a burden so im gonna tell my dad to go to a mechanic not so busy... mechanic hung up on my dad when we were stranded when the two alarms screwed eachother... gonna ask the price of replacing a head gasket at the mechanic next to my church... a know the owners son... not too much though-eh

the vehicle was free. i find that amazing too. and whats more amazing as you stated, they probably expected the car to be in good condition.. forwhatever reason, i have no idea.

after hearing its been untouched by man for a few months i expected a few hundred in repairs. you just know...

i dont know why the mechanic told them not to keep it.. probably doesnt wanna work on it.. he already services out 94' Grand Voyager. he seems pretty busy.. went to his shop once. he seems like a smart guy but a askhole

and the person who gave it to us, they're millionaires i dont think they see the value in this baby... Toyota- reliability, functionality, and a whole lotta love.

two previa's? what years? they both still alive?
