I paid a little under $200 for mine years ago...

the % varies based on what state you live in and whether or not they do inspections. You'll be safe regardless if you go with about 35%. I think I have 35 or 38, just wish it was darker, but you can always try to push the envelope.

sup? here are the links for tint laws in different states of the U.S.:

http://www.tintdude.com/laws.html

http://home.pcisys.net/~bpc/auto_law/tint/

I live in FL, I know its different than your state in tint laws but in FL the lowest is 20% for cars, thats what I have.

You should find the tint laws for your state and go with the lowest % tint possible but still stay in the legal range.

just go to a few places that do tint and ask them for a quote. They will know the local laws and will work with you to get the tint you want.

Just a word of warning on tints and the enforcement of the tint laws. I had "legal" tint installed on my 2000. Although I had the paperwork to prove it, when they put a light meter to it, it exceeded the maximum allowed tint. The slight tint in the windows from the factory combined with the film tint I had installed was the problem. Needless to say, I had to get it removed and a lighter tint installed to get my safety check. A lesson learned I thought I'd pass onto everyone ..... a costly lesson learned.

well when you have two layers of tint, the ammount of light passing through is less... but yes, good advice.
