Intermitent Cruise Control problem. 92 Celica GT-S, 5 Speed, 5S-FE.
My cruise will take up to an hour to warm up and then work. It'll be good for awhile. Then it'll cut out while driving and the cruise light will blink about 5 times then go out for good. I can then quicky turn off the car and back on either while rolling or at a complete stop. Turn on the CC and it works again for awhile.
I have swaped out with known working parts the brake switch, clutch switch, the ECU, and even the vaccuum actuator from a wreckers. Same thing. The only thing I couldn't swap out was the speed sensor. For the life of me I can't find it to swap it out. Any ideas on that one would be helpful. I also can't find the CC Fuse.
mine's kinda wacked too. mine cuts on and off and it just starts jerking the car and it's annoying. i've tried to figure it out but no luck here either
I found the speed sensor. But that didn't fix it. The speedo cable connects to it and then it connects to the transmission with one 10ml bolt. It has a two pin plug that also connects to it. Dealer seems to think it was supposed to be down by the wheels somewhere. I have learned that there a few different methods that Toyota used with the speed sensor.
So the only thing I haven't changed out yet is the control switch on the column.
Still haven't figured out where the CC fuse is yet??
