Satellite Radio Installation

I just installed the Toyota XM radio kit. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be--it took about 2 hours, tho I didn't follow the instructions to the T. Thanks to those on this forum for the guidelines on doing this. Very helpful. Everything works, but the reception isn't that great--I lose the signal quite a bit. I think I need to upgrade the antenna as has been suggested. Next weekend.

If you mounted the antenna on the dashboard as recommended by Toyota that is why the reception is spotty. I had the exact same issue. When I had the antenna remounted to the front of the roof, all reception issues disappeared!

I just remounted it to the roof, driver side. Much better! Thanks for the tip. The antenna wire went nicely under some of the rubber trim, and only took about a half hour to switch.
