No problem. Just remember though, the only possible issue you may run into doing it this way...is if the holes for which the holding pin goes through are not completely in alignment...then you'd have no choice but to remove the tensioner and put it in the vise to collapse it. I've had a few be like that but not many...sometimes the center rod/plunger of the tensioner will rotate ever so slightly to one side or the other.
