Lexus transmission fluid

Hello everyone. I have a question. Does Lexus use the same transmission fluid that Toyota uses? I was just wondering. If it does, I would just go out to Toyota and purchase the Toyota fluid since the nearest Lexus dealership is 1hour away, so far away. And does any one have any special technical informations on changing transmission fluid on a Lexus?

It should be the same, what year is the car? For newer ones i think is Type 4 toyota fluid and the old ones 2002 and down is Dextron III, my '94 takes dextron3 . You might try to go with drain and refill, it's easy and you should find plenty of info over the net how to do it. Anyway few steps: lift the car, unscrew the transmission plug, let it drain, screw the plug back in. Fill it up from the dipstick, my '94 takes 3.1 liter of fluid. start the car let it idle and check dipstic, top up as nescesary until full. Drive the car for 1000 km or so and repeat the procedure all over again. Don't try to power flush it though... bad idea.
