97 Toyota Corolla 1.6L:wink: Have had this car for a few months now. Previously owned a 96 Rolla and before that.....A 93 rolla!

Came with ABS, Cruise, Tilt Steering, A/C. Will be putting in power mirrors and windows eventually once the weather permits.

Mods so far are Ram air and some crappy DRL. Needs a bit of work like paint and rear struts.

Will be posting more updates and ideas in the next few days. Any questions feel free to ask!

Mine shuts off once I turn the key off. I was looking for an alarm box but didn't see anything. Called a few dealers one say they don't work with the key off which is weird and one says it's supposed to work with they key off.

Decided to log some data today while driving.

My car is shifting gears at:

-1st- 37Km/h----RPM--3312K
-2nd- 74Km/h---RPM--3267K
-3rd- 81Km/h---RPM--2812K

That seems pretty tight to me for 2nd and 3rd.

Heres the fuel trim.

And everything else.

So far since my first post I've installed focus fogs, mud flaps and wired in a sub. Next is touch up work on the paint and all new struts. Would also like to get my hands on a black top soon as well.

run your rca's away from your power and remote wire... the voltage current can cause some distortion in the subwoofer. also get a ground loop isolator and a noise suppressor... oh, and speaker baffles... and you can re-circuit your battery system like ajay did. run some wires from the batt (-) to the engine. and from the bolt on wire on the alternator to the batt (+), this should help stabilize voltage and power noise.

I surprisingly have no problems with distortion or noise, but I will run the rca's down the doors. I have the ground wires all done up. Just have to get to the + side of things.

She's looking really nice! I love the Focus fog mod, almost looks OEM.

Is that a gen8 storage box I spy?
Thanks! Yeah I forgot to mention the storage box.

How did you get your storage box/cup holders to sit flush?

What is that thing next to the dimmer switch?
It's the 7th gen cup holders with the storage box. :frown: But I didn't like the 8th gen cup holders anyways. All my cups fall out unless they're really big. And that's a voltage reader next to the dimmer. Lets me know if the alternator is under or over charging and if i'm running on battery and shows voltage.

My '93 is a single airbag. Passenger side airbags started out as optional in other cars, so could be the same with Corollas.

Changed out the diff fluid the other day. I don't know exactly how much is supposed to go in there but I got 1.5L in. The old fluid was pretty dark, but barely any shavings on the drain bolt. I'm also starting to notice a quick ping when I step on the gas.

#28 ·
What do you mean by a ping when you step on the gas?

As for the diff, fill it until fluid starts coming out of the fill port. I try to keep the car pretty level when I refill the diff, but I don't remember exactly how much fluid I managed to put inside it.

Did a couple things today....Replaced brake rotors and pads and distributor cap and rotor, and a new set of spark plugs.

EDIT: I cleaned the intake again after 9000km Pretty dirty once again, but this time I cleaned the egr too. Time to get or make an oil catch can.

I didn't really have much time today, but I found a crotch vent, power windows and mirrors at the pick N pull so hopefully they are still there when I go back. There was also a front sway bar and I was wondering what I would need to take to get in order to fit it on my car. Is there any difference in handling and is it even worth it?

Here, it says "plus:"
Addition is quite useful, but I'm not that big of a fan...

Here's the part I don't understand:
It says "170-1." Who really needs to write out that equation? Everybody knows off the top of their head that the answer is 169!
However, it looks like the taillights need to write out some equations, and practice up on their math, because they both came up with "166," (morons) which leads me to wonder if maybe one of them might've copied off of the other...
