Anyone have experience with this subwoofer enclosure? Can you help!?
I am planning to do a full Elemental Designs setup in the back.
I e-mailed Music Moose Audio and they told me that the eD subs that I want to use will fit. So that seems cool!
They said I would need to "cut the bolt brackets". Does anyone know what they mean?
I am willing to cut what needs to be cut, I just want to know what they mean!
Can you guys post a pic if possible?
Thank you TN!
Here is the box I am going to buy...

When you remove the storage bins behind the seat you will see the metal brackets that the bolts went into. Thats what has to be removed. I used a spot weld drill bit to drill out the spot welds, that way the brackets wouldnt be destroyed and coule be remounted later if needed.

Ok!
I don't think I have the tool you used.
I don't plan on re-installing the bracket later on.
What tool do you think I can use? Something simple!

^ I am going to CUT both of you ASAP!
I believe it's a little piece of sheet metal on the brace that the bolt goes through. I think I have seen it.
Am, I right?

Just my $.02 here.....I'd leave the braces across the back for structural integrity.....just have a stereo shop near you build you the same type box with "notch's" in the back for the bar after the plastic is removed......a carpeted box like that wouldn't cost too much......
after looking at the link....its already got the notch! sounds like these bolt brackets are something other than the long beams that run the back lenght of the cab.......GOOD LUCK!

Thanks.
I think it's just a tiny piece of sheet metal, not the entire brace.
Can anyone confirm? Can anyone post a pic!?

Yeah its just like 4 brackets if i remember right. They can be cut with tin snips probablly. A pair of dykes i had was good enough to cut through them. Its not the crossbeams. Those will stay put and the child harness brackets stay put as well. They are just sheet metal bent with a thread for the bolts. Youll see when you remove the bins, its not to difficult actually. If you look at the box design, the raised area in the middle runs the full length of the box, this accomadates the brace. However the brackets need to be cut so the box will sit flush against the wall.

NorCal, do you know if the volume space is good for your eD subs? It looks quite big on each side.
You should give Marv a call. You're not that far from him.

dont have a clue. the box takes up the entire space in the back. the shop uses the crap out of the memphis brand but the depth is so shallow that i only had one sub to chooso from out of their entire brand of subs

Here ya go. Leave the top 2 alone since they are used to secure your rear seat. The middle and bottom brackets can go.

Have the exact box in my truck, you don't have to cut anything. Just remove the plastic bins and it falls in, tight fit. I'll take pictures this weekend if you'd like.
I left the plastic backs on the seat as well, but I may take them out when I sound deaden my truck because they vibrate a little when the stereo's turned up.

OMG, I love you 2K6TAC.
Thank you!
So Vitruvius, you have the exact same box and you did not have to cut anything?
What subs are you using!?
