cruise control light blinking t100

I have a 1998 t100 sr5 xtra cab. just bought the truck so i dont know if the cruise has had a problem before. at any speed i turn on the crusie and all i get is a blinking light on the dash. cruise does not engage. nothing looks unlpugged under the hood and all the fuses and relays check out. speedometer seems to be working correctly, I see no other problems with the truck and have reset the computer by un hooking the battery for a few minutes. hope to use the cruise on vacation soon, without going to the dealer. any ideas.... thanks Bill

the cruise probably has a code stored, and I am almost pos. u will have to take it to dealer to have them check it, and find problem on that part vehicle.

Is there a way to clear the code to see if it comes back. the truck was a total and i have rebuilt it. the code may be a result of the accident. i can clear the ecm codes but unsure of these codes. also is the a service manual that would be helpfull for this kind of truck what does the standard service manual cover would it cover this type of problem. thanks bill
