surge performance chip?

Hey my friend had told me about a surge performane chip by Surge Engineering... i was wondering if anyone had purchased one, or knew anything about them. they advertise like up to 35 hp gain.. but idk... and its only like 100 bucks

Your suspicions are correct... follow them. I googled what you're talking about, and all this thing is is a resistor that gets wired into the intake air temp circuit to trick the computer into thinking the temp is different outside. Doesn't really work that way.
Besides, think about it. If there were something that could yield more power, torque, economy, and everything else these people claim all for $100, don't you think the armies of PhD engineers that Toyota has would have figured it out?

It's a scam. You can buy the same thing at radio shack for less than a dollar. And no, it doesn't work.
