Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum but not new to Toyota Trucks. I had owned an 85 with a 22R 4 cyl before. Drove it everyhwere and loved it until the head gasket went out.
I very recently bought a 96 T100 with 175,000 mi on it. The previous owner did a pretty good job of taking care of it maintenance wise. It has the 3.4L V6 Auto in it which is an engine/tranny I am not very familiar with so I'm looking for some expertise.
Is there anything I should look for or do as the new owner? All the belts were changed at 150K along with new plugs and a tranny flush.
Anyone have any recommendations on how I can boost my fuel economy? My first couple of calculations are putting me around 17-18 MPG which was a little disappointing to me. Is this normal for this motor? How about overall acceleration performance as well? Seems kind of sluggish and slow to respond. Maybe I'm expecting too much but I have to believe I can make it do better.
Thanks
