Chirping Noise when accelerating?
I have a '96 T100 V6. Recently, a "chirping" noise has started when accelerating. This lasts until I hit about 25-30 MPH and then disappears (at least to my ears). Any suggestions what it could be? I am scheduled for a service with my mechanic next week. Could it need lubed or something else.
Thanks.

could be a pinging in the motor caused by running low octane gas, or sometimes just natural in higher mile motors. My truck does that on hard acceleration and so does my dads car. Truck has 165,000 mi and his Honda Accord has 110,000. JMO

Chirping
 Adam,
Thanks for the response. I've had high mile cars/trucks before and never heard this before. But hey, anything once.

Adam,
FYI - My mechanic said the same thing about the octaine fuel. I tried a higher level and the "chirping seems to have stopped! Thanks for the info.
