FYI... just found this interesing...
Jim Press, president of Toyota Motor Sales in the U.S., said last week at an industry gathering that the focus for the auto industry is no longer on manufacturing, but on savvy customers who know what they want to buy and what they want to pay. "Instead of buyer beware, it's manufacturer beware," he quipped.
That may not be so bad for Toyota (TM), which raised sticker prices on 2006 models. Consumers appreciate the quality and styling of cars made by Asian companies, which continue to gain U.S. market share without offering a lot of special deals.
