2006 RAV4 Spy Shots

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...deline.promo.4.*

Well, once again, Toyota's using an old body over a new chassis disguise method. The wheelbase seems longer by a few inches. Maybe 5 tops but the RAV4, if I recall, doesn't have a long wheelbase to start with so this extension is definitely needed. I really hope they don't squeeze in a 3rd row cause that's just pathetic. Seriously, who's gonna sit there? the leprechaun?

4th Generation

Honestly the RAV4 should have stayed small. Same with the CRV. There is no point in making all these cars so huge. They arent easy to drive, and they arent easy to park in mall parking lots. Sure i know its all about the leg room, HP, wide track blah blah. but honestly, thats what the real big boys are for.

thats just my two cents anyways.

It's not. That's just the current generation's body mounted on the new chassis like I said in the first post

yeah they are going to change parts and stuff. although i doubt it'll be a big change in terms of looks. so now its going to be almost or as long as a highlander...just shorter ansd narrower...

Hope it doesn't look like the XL-7 in terms of length vs. width

Hmm, the front looks like a Mazda3 cross Forester with the Highlander Hybrid grille. The rear shoulder looks like the Mazda3 too.

Otherwise, not bad looking.

I also believe that's the real thing. I think from this angle, it gives away that it has a lower ride height then it actually will be.

Perhaps it will remain w/ this ride height....who knows.

I suspect 2 engine choices: 2AZ 4 cyl and a 4GR 6cyl

But I think it looks good. This whole super-fast sport-wagon thing is really picking up!

It's real. Check out the Toyota US site, it's shown.
