Replacing Fuel Injectors
Has anyone ever replaced their fuel injectors and if so, what brand did you go with? With over 150K miles, I read an article that claims it's better to replace the injectors after 100K miles vs. cleaning them because they could be damaged and cleaning will not fix the problem. Cost to replace vs cleaning is considerable. Cost per injector is around $120.00 vs $95.00 for the Toyota dealer to clean. My 96 has develop hard starts and rough idle at times. What do you guys recommend?

my 95 4cyl is doing the same thing w/140,700. after it sits all nite it will start up fast and easy, well after you drive around a bit and then go to local store and shut off for about 10-30 mins it takes 20-30 seconds of constant cranking to start it! MAKES ME MAD!
so where to get them and what kind?

Despite what you have read, most injectors will last 500k miles or more. There are some exceptions to the rule, such as boosted engines, bad design, etc. Heat, moisture, and lots of short trips can shorten their life. The Denso injectors are a well built and we routinely service injectors with 400K plus miles on them.
If you do get replacements, be sure that you get the same part number. Many autoparts stores sell "replacement" injectors at are close to the stock units. Some of the replacements flow up to 20% different than what the stock injectors do.

Thanks guys, I went with the most conservative approach and had the injectors cleaned at the dealer vs replacing them. I thought, in all of the vehicles I have owned, how many did I ever change the injectors...None. My truck only has 157K miles, so it's not completely broken in yet
