Theoretically, what excites me is that the LS, GS, *and* IS can share the same engines. Can you imagine what kind of a segment killer all 3 would be if they all got a V8 hybrid drivetrain?

Isn't there an IS460?? (no idea if it's a hybrid or not. Probably is)

I believe Lexus registered that name.

Crap! The IS would dominate! The GS would be hella fast. And the LS would finally be able to keep up with the Germans pretty well.

Toyota will use the same V6 engines in all their vehicles to cut down costs of building different size engines. The Rav4 V6 should gives us a hint that the Camry, Highlander and Sienna will later be updated with the 3.5L engine. Lexus will do the same with their V6 and V8 engines. GS, IS will have the same V6, (ES may join?) The V8 will be the 4.6 in the LS, GS, (SC?) after when the LS is released.

Yes, we will get the GS350 once the LS460 is launched and the GS V8 model gets the 4.6 litre V8. That's the only reason why we're stuck with the GS300 while the rest get the GS350.
