Lookin good, I like it.

Any problems along the way, or did you just follow the customtacos.com write up?

Will have to see how 55Reasons job turns out since his truck is the same as mine but it looks really sharp on your x-runner.

Good Job.

its really not hard...its just a PAIN
I found that 305degrees for 9mins will get the light apart first try also and a friend helping to pry apart
Getting the caulk to soften up to pry apart was a bitch.
Everything else was easy..the other hard part was putting back together and hoping I put enough extra silicone inside and around to make sure it doesnt leak

dumb question...but, how did you get them black? I understand the pulling apart process, just don't know what made them black. I'm young and inexperienced, sorry.

Any specific paint, I know it gets pretty hot in there? Was there a specific primer you used? I really like how that looks, but my truck is white with plans of painting it like a sport model, so I don't know if that contrast will look good or bad? Thanks for all your info.

I used krylon fusion paint.
All i did was scuff up the surface..the Fusion paint bonds to the plastic does not need to be primered.

Don't paint the radiator. Seriously.

Mine turned out great too, even had a guy at walmart today ask me where he could buy them ....

I went another route after having to bake the first light twice to get it apart, and switched up to 325 for 7 minutes on the second one and it worked a lot better. It was over 110 most of the summer, and it really baked my headlights closed pretty well.

The deal with the "diffuser" is another story. That lense had to come out on mine as it didn't go with the look of the truck in a 4WD status. It looks great on 05Xrunners ride though, and I think you'll be happy you left in in there.

6 of one, half dozen of the other....

I think both trucks looks sweet but different.....

In the case of the the Blue XR, it adds some stealth to the truck. In the case of my silver streak 4x4, it adds a real aggressive contrast to the bright paint and makes the truck look really pissed off...

I'll get some more pics up when I get a chance.

Cool mod. Sweating is normal before you put them in the oven ....

And I don't know about you 05XRunner, but those last headlight bolts never made it back on the truck!
