Aftermarket Wheels
Just bought a 2006 Prius for my daughter. I like all the high tech features and am very happy with the cars performance. The only thing I'm not too happy about is the look of the wheels. Does anyone know what the bolt pattern of the stock wheels are? Also looking to add a Yakima roof rack - has anyone done this yet, any pics? Thanks.

search for Sigma automotive. The guy there has lotsa Prius accessories from Japan that you can purchase. It includes the Euro-style wheels and various Tom's alloy rims in 17 and I think 18" too.

Dunno.. I'm sure the SCCA site will have some details lol.
It's 110hp stock. 76hp is the engine only. Dyno'd a regular Prius. 105hp and 115lb-ft.

Try pulling the rings off the original wheels. They look quite a bit nicer when unhide those alloy wheels under the plastic crap.

the reason most people don't put aftermarket wheels on the prius is because they bought it with a purpose in mind, good fuel economy.
You have to be careful with aftermarket wheels. Make sure you don't get anything to big. Every time you upsize, you add weight and the worst place to add weight on a car is the wheels. The unsprung weight you add will decrease your fuel mileage pretty quickly. If you stay with a smaller sized wheel, like the 15" ,or 16" on the touring model, then you will be ok. If you go any bigger, you'll start to see your fuel economy go down. P.S. To answer, since I haven't seen it here yet, the bolt pattern on the prius is 5x100.
