EV Mode ~

Dear Toyota Nation,

~ Cheers, greetings, salutations... Hope all is well with your and yours.

~ Has anyone out there yet tried EV mode on their Prius? If so, then by all means, chime in with your thoughts. I'd be interested to know how this has worked for you. Crunching the numbers, I anticipate over 60 MPGs.

~ Just placed my order... I anticipate getting mine late this week. Have a look-see if and when you find time:

The EV mod will NOT get you 60mpg. It's designed so that you can keep the engine off whenever you feel like it. Doing so may hurt your fuel mileage if you don't use it properly. (although there isn't a "right" way of using it lol).

I use it for a variety of reasons.

1. To move the car in/out of the garage to wash it.

2. To move about in an underground parking lot (lets other ppl breathe easier)

3. To move it to another parking spot or similar short distance

4. To delay the start of the engine til I get to the main road so that it can warm up while I drive rather than idle at the stop sign

5. To show off EV driving and how cool and serene it is

and so forth.
