Howdy, I'm a newbie here. I have a 1997 RAV4 4x4. The power steering fluid is gross and badly needs changed. Does anyone know if it's a big job? how do I drain the old fluid, and does it matter if air gets in the system?
Thanks
Do a search on this site , someone did it on a Camry and did a beautiful write-up with pics. I use a siphon bulb at my fill container but it only draws 2 oz at a time (out of 32 oz capacity for PS fluid. I do it daily for a week or two. It's crude but better than NOT doing it.
Found in two minutes ---typed "power steering flush" in search ---scrolled down to "gen2 Flushing P/S Fluid" read a referall to the gentlemen who did it, member name Ken4 on 4-06-05, openned link and it's all there.
