Canada rear alignment problems

Has anyone had a problem with rear alignment? My 2002 RAV4 L has serious problems that the toyota serviceman I went to believes has been there since the beginning. We bought this from a friend recently, and I have been sinking money into tires and alignments ever since. He is a very anal fella and swears he knows nothing of the problem. He had the factory required maintenance done every year and always on top of service. The dealer/service he dealt with swears to my dealer/service guy that it has never had an alignment done. (that's as much as they'd say) I am looking at $2000 in repairs , plus I have to replace brand new top of the line tires. If I do not get it repaired, I will be buying tires at least once a year. I was convinced by my hubby that this would be a great deal because of the care by the previous owner, and I have to be on the road 75 miles a day, so he wanted a good vehicle for me. I am sick knowing I have spent money I didn't have on a vehicle that is now costing me money every time I turn around. I have seen that Matrix owners are dealing with faulty rear alignments from factory. Does anyone have any insight or advice?

Get a 4-wheel alignment at a shop that has the latest laser/computerized equipment. I just had my low-mileage 2005 Highlander aligned at Firestone/Bridgestone and the rears were out of spec.

rear alignment

Great...but how do I find a repair shop with what is considered the newest technology to do a four wheel alignment? That's why I took it to Toyota to begin with...
