Radiator flush

I have a 95 corolla with 170K miles on it. In my memory, I have never had a coolant flush done ever (and I have owned the car whence new)! - except maybe it was done with a 90K miles service? When I talked to the Toyota service consultant (after learning here that it is a good idea to do it every 30K miles) about it, he said that there is a potential for damage to the transmission from doing a flush service- and he recommended only drain and refill! Is this true? Thanks in anticipation of answers.

i dont get how that would effect your transmission lol if you read the back of a coolent jug it should say u need a coolent flush or radiator pertectant type chemical after you drain coolent u flush it with that then drain it and then add coolent ?? im not sure u will have to read the directions to confirm

I'd just reverse flush it and put in new coolant-mix.
