GPS Navigation System for 2005 Matrix
Hello Everybody !
Just to briefly introduce myself. I just picked up my new 2005 Matrix XR as of today. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out. I currently live in Canada, and unfortunately it is impossible to buy an OEM GPS Navigation system for the Matrix. I was wondering if anybody has any insights or knows where I could get one. Either brand new or if someone is willing to sell theirs.
Your help and comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
The Hun

You should check out the Garmin website. They sell some excellent GPS voice activated navigation systems for around $800 CAD. They come with touch screen as well and easily mount on top of the dash. Here is a model number for you to get started street pilot 2650. They have excellent coverage of all the places in NA and they are priced a lot lower than most of the OEM Navigations that are well above $3000 dollars. This is the one I will be installing in the new few months on my 05 XRS.

I think the reason the OEM navigation system was axed for Canadian-bound Matrices was because there wasn't software support for Canadian road maps.
The TRD booth at Toronto's auto show last mth was pushing out brochures on Denso nav systems for Toyota. I'm not sure if it's something you could ask the dealer to install after the fact though. Wouldn't hurt to ask the dealer if you're that interested I suppose.
Personally, I'm getting a PDA w/ GPS capabilities.
