I was wondering if anybody here has a Homelink mirror on their Tacoma? I just got one off of Ebay. It's an Autodimming with the garage door openers, etc. It is a Gentex 313, and comes with the harness and instructions. I paid $130. Seems like a pretty good deal compared to the Toyota auto dimming mirror, which is like $250. I wonder if I'll have to change the mount that glues to the window? I hope that they're all kind of universal.
I guess I can tap into power via the overhead console temp and compass guage.

That homelink mirror came installed on my XRunner when I got it. I have no idea how it was on there but I got one
I just got mine installed. It was pretty easy. You can slide the new mirror on the stock window mount, which was nice. The stock mirror has a plastic cover that pops off. I used a "dentist pick" to pull it off. Then there is a black tab that you press on, then pull up to take it off. To power the new mirror I tapped into the wiring in the overhead console. On my truck the overhead console is held in by one phillips screw in the sunglass pocket, then you just pull down on the front, by the compass/temp, and it will pop down. The front is held up by 2 clips that come loose when you pull down on the whole piece. The new mirror has just 3 wires to hook up. There are 2 plugs if you have the temp/compass option. The green wire on the big plug is an ignition wire, the black/white wire is the ground, and the white wire on the smaller plug is constant power.
The Homelink is cool with the garage door opening buttons. Now I can get rid of my ugly door opener.
Pb2theMax, I want the exact mirror you have. I have looked all over and cannot even find Gentex 313 anywhere. When I google the Gentex 313, it shows ebay should have them, but when I click the link, I get a screen full of many different mirrors, but unfortunately it does not appear the Gentex 313 is there. Could you attach a link or do you have some suggestion where I could find this mirror.
Thanks in advance.

TACOwannabe, I appreciate the link, but I already saw that one. That is unfortunately a used one. It does not have the harness. I am looking for a new one. Read the info on the mirror and I don't think many would feel comfortable purchasing that mirror.
Yeah, that last link is the same thing I have. I bought mine from wembleysells. He ships super fast and the mirror was in perfect condition. But you could also try to contact him and see if he has one that he might want to sell outside of Ebay for a little cheaper.
