The SUV and CUV market is still (relatively) hot.
Hybrid market is still hot. Prius is hurting, but that's only because of the increase in competition both from within Toyota product lines and other manufacturers.
Rav4/Highlander hybrids killed the Prius-V
The Prius-C has been killed off... Corolla Hybrid will take that market.

Even though the mid-sized sedan market is hurting in general, Camry hybrid sales are solid.

The first one we looked at here was sold a few minutes before we arrived at the dealer, hours after coming off the truck and before the shipping wrapper was removed. There has been anticipation of the arrival of the model and pent-up demand. That is not conducive to sales incentives, other than normal end-of-month sales counts.

We found and bought ours (at another dealer than the one above) in the last hour of March that the dealer was open. Not much deal but we think the car is fantastic - worth waiting for the power train. Besides, we normally keep cars 10+ years so any excess we paid will be amortized over a long time.

We got $1K off and $1K using Toyota finance (will pay off in 2 months), and it was on the lot only 24 hours.

I think we got $600 off as a "dealer discount" and as Michael did, financed it through Toyota to get the $1000 discount. We'll pre-pay quite a bit to reduce the total financed and pay the rest off after the obligatory 3 payments (so we've been told) -- so we figure after paying interest and fees we'll see around $800 of that $1000. Ours wasn't on the lot at all - we nabbed it while still wrapped in plastic and not road-legal yet, but it was exactly the color, trim level and safety package that we wanted.

Fees ? ... it's a simple interest loan.
When you get the bill, send in your payment. Don't wait the month for the due date. Interest is charged starting the next day. If you pay it in 3 payments... maybe $70 in interest ?

Don't know the minimum, we made a downpayment for all but 10k, so that's the amount of the financed cost. Three payments are required before you pay it all off -- we confirmed that with the dealer's finance guy. No idea how long it will last, I think these offers tend to expire / change at the end of the month.

It depends on the dealer and the loan.
If you don't qualify for Toyota Financial, or if the dealer wants to throw in some extra profit, it is a very common tactic for the "finance guy" to write the loan with a different bank, and/or include prepayment penalties, while the bank provides a kickback to the dealer.
This is standard fare if you buy the loss leader from the newspaper ad without also buying a bunch of accessories. The dealer WILL get their profit margin one way or another. These loans will generally have prepayment penalties if you pay off the loan within 3 months, but sometimes they extend that to 6.

We confirmed before signing that we could:

Make a huge downpayment on the loan and not impact the $1000 discount. We took it from 35k down to 10k.

Pay the loan off after 3 months / 3 payments and still get the $1000 discount. FYI in California there is no penalty for early payoff of any legal loan.

YMMV
