1995 Camry Flex Pipe

My '95 Camry's Flex Pipe in the exhaust system got opened up by a big rock in the road...really loud now. I'd like to try to replace it on my own, without welding. It appears original fitting is a weld so I'd have to cut it. Any one with experience in this fix? Would clamps do an adequate job after replacing? A shop repair is more than I want to spend.

Cut and weld and do it right or cut and get a pipe expander and clamp it. One is a life long fix as long as it is done right, the other one I consider the "domestic route".

- ^ this..

- weld it on proper
- a muffler shop should charge $85-$165

- by the time you add up u-bolts/clamps, muffler cement, hardware, and all the bs trying to patch it together you could be in and out and done at a muffler/welder shop

- OR get a stick welder and DIY

^ What Vangm25 said. I helped a friend do the flexpipe/clamp fix a few years back. The fix lasted about 6 months. Have an aftermarket muffler shop cut out the old pipe and weld in a new flex pipe. That should run about $100 and last for a while.
