Good replacement headlights?

I hope this is a straight-forward question: what are some good alternatives to the OEM headlights on a '08 Camry CE? After having the same headlights for 8 years, the bulbs have finally begun to go, but I'm thinking I might go for a nice new set of headlights instead of changing the bulbs. Any suggestions?

I don't really care what they are, as long as they're bright and aren't illegal (I've heard that HIDs are illegal?). Also, are LEDs any good? I've heard that they can have over-heating problems.

Hids have a large variety of colors measured in kelvin degrees. The colors can be illegal. If you buy a HID kit, there will be a option for color, it will say anywhere from 3k (yellow) to 12k(blue/purple). If you get a kit from 43k ( will be very bright and will look like halogens)to 5k ( pure white) you will be fine.

I have 6k and love it

Very slight tint of blue
When you buy them most kits come in 35w which is sufficient and brighter than OEM/stock but there's a option for 50/55w. I have 50w and love it but 35w is enough and cheaper.

Since you seem like you really don't want to get a ticket, buy a 35w 5k HID kit. I dont have experience with LEDS, but I have heard they work better in a reflector type housing. Our cars have a projector housing, which is the circle thing in the headlight.

You may want to add fog lights one day and these LED fog lights are liked by many user here on TN

If you look at that thread, he posted a nighttime picture and it's look fine, and the after market looks way better.
