Is there a way to get at the bulb for the "check battery" light that shows up in the dashboard?

What is the issue? Is the bulb stuck on or not turning on?

If it's stuck on, your alternator is likely not charging correctly.

My Toyota List:

1982 Corolla SR-5 (Shell Right Now)
2005 Corolla CE 1ZZFE M/T
2005 Sequoia Limited 2UZFE A/T
2008 LS460 SWB RWD 1URFSE A/T

If I helped out in any way please hit the Thanks button under my post.

I believe it is an LED not a bulb. That would require that you remove and disassemble the instrument cluster de-solder and re-solder the LED.

The "check battery" light will not go out.

The alternator and battery are fine. The light has been on for half a year and the car always starts and the battery never goes dead.

I was using a implement that plugs into the cigarette lighter that allows a 2 prong plug to be plugged into it.

It blew out the cigarette lighter so that there was no longer any power from the cigarette lighter.

I checked all of the fuses inside the passenger compartment as well as inside the engine compartment - none were blown.

However, I found there is a fuse underneath the lighter that might need to be replaced.

However, after I wiggled the large square fuses inside the engine compartment - attempting to get them out to check - is when the CHECK BATTERY light came on.

I did not force those big square fuses but just gently tried to wiggle them out.

I gave up when the large square fuses would not come out and never did get the large square fuses out - but all of the other types of fuses were checked and are good fuses.

Brilliant! I'm sure the person I sell the car to won't notice that!
