The Blackvue is controlled and monitored by an app on your phone. The higher end models are Cloud-capable, but you need to have a hotspot in your car, so there's the added expense of that on your cellular plan, plus the two subscription levels are $9 and $19/month... as much as an XM subscription.
Check out the convos on Dashcamtalk. It's a decent forum and the members are very honest about issues... very few fanbois. Blackvue is, IMHO, probably the simplest installation and most flexible, but it's not without issues.

The Rexing also has a rear view camera... that's the one that I bought for the work van. It's nice, but no Wifi, so the chip needs to be pulled to review video.
I really like the Street Guardian, but the small screen is getting more and more difficult to deal with as my eyes age... mine is being replaced by a Blackvue.
