I think someone may have even mentioned that they successfully swapped out their hybrid parts with a gas sport edition. Thanks!
It should be easy enough to check. Following the instructions, you can remove the rear tool bay/jacking tool unit (whatever you want to call it) which will give you a view underneath the 3rd row seat. You can check that the mounting locations are there. If memory serves, the hybrid has the same mountings, but that certainty still isn't 100%.

Hi,

I'm considering buying a 2008 Highlander sport that does not currently have a 3rd row. I can't see your pictures for the swap and wanted to see if you could email them to me so I can see how this works before purchasing the vehicle? Could you email them to me at [email protected] if you still have them?

Thanks,
Kristen

I forgot about these pictures, the links for which went bad after Photobucket screwed over everyone on the internet and planet Earth. I'll rehost them and get the photos back up in a short time. Thanks!

EDIT: Photos back again.

I'm in Columbus, Ohio. I have a 2010 Highlander Hybrid with gray interior. My Highlander has the storage bins and they're in great condition. Is there anyone with a gray 3rd row that wants to swap? I'll drive to you (within 400), and, if you want, I'll even do all the work.

What's the verdict on hybrid for non-hybrid parts swaps?

The answer is yes. Here's a link to a past reply within this thread:

BTW, I'd recommend posting a new thread to the SUV parts for trade or wanted forum as well. In fact, it was through my own posting in that forum instead of the 2nd Gen Highlander forum where I was contacted by the member whom I performed the swap with. Food for thought to increase your chances of hooking up with another member.

My previous vehicle had load of under lid storage but this HL has little room behind with the 3rd row up if you were taking things with you it won't fit. Anyway, I'd gladly pull the seats out for a under the top storage area. One person has done it but his parts list was quite and expensive venture IMO. I did not buy it for more than 5 in total.

Looking for storage box 07 Highlander

I know this is a 2nd generation topic. I have a 2007 Hybrid Highlander 3rd row seat that I would like to swap with a storage bin. I don't know if the 2008 is compatible with the 2007.

I have a 2010 solid bench for sale with bracket if anyone wants it. I'm in Houston. Swapped it out with the split bench of a 2013 but then I sold the Highlander. Beige leather. In great condition.
