Model:Corolla
Year:2000
Mileage:228,000 klm
Transmission:4 speed auto (shifts so smooth still)
Any major repairs?: Brakes, exhaust, brake lines, I have had a lean condition for years. (I think it is a vacuum leak)

Sadly I am in Ontario so the rust is killing my Rolla
Gas tank is rusting out so she is on her last legs...

Hello Evan,

Have you tried one of this "Rust Protection" places? I'm in Canada too and last year I tried the "Krown" one... No sure if really will be effective in the long run, but this year so far looks like at least the original corrosion on my car hasn't been increased. In this way hope you can keep your car alive for another couple of years...

Hey Pedro, Well I did test out Krown the one year. I was given 2 cans by a local mechanic. I don't have the funds to have an actual application done. I would like to try and do the same thing this year. I am having trouble finding the spray-able cans of Krown though. No local stores sell it. I hate Rust so much! People who don't have to deal with it don't realize how lucky they are. I feel a sense of dread each time I even look under my Corolla.

I still have this car after all of these years. It now has 346,000 miles and still runs great. Its not the prettiest thing but it never really was.The white paint is coming off all over the place but i will never get rid of it.I have owned it since 2011 and out of the 60+ vehicles i have owned in my life time, this has been THE most reliable. All i do is change the oil/filter ever 4000 miles. The oil consumption has even dropped.I can't say enough good things about this car (hope i don't jinx myself).
