Should drain plug on 4AFE MT have a gasket?

Should the drain plug on the manual transmission of a 4AFE engine have a washer type gasket on it? A friend and I drained the transmission oil on his car today and we didn't find any gasket on the drain plug.

yes it should, its an aluminum ring. make sure you have it. also make sure its not just stuck on the drain bolt and your thinking its one piece.
