Replacement key for Corolla

I just bought a 2013 Toyota Corolla and want to buy a replacement master key. Mine has a dot on the blade but my secondary key that is not a remote has a G on it. Both will unlock the car and start the engine. Should my replacement master key be one with a G or a dot? Thanks.

I was told that the two would not interchange. Do you think that someone has messed with one of the keys?

I am currently having key issues too and in my research, the G key works for G and DOT keys, it is backwards compatible from what I have researched.

But this is only one way compatible, meaning a DOT key won't work if the car requires G key.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

It could be your dot key was made to open your car and fit the ignition. I am thinking the chip from the original key was transfered to the shell of your dot key. Thats how you are able to start your car and also another way to make a cheap key. I hope its not confusing. To make a copy of g key and programming cost over hundred. You can also program the g key yourself with the right software and cable. There is no way there is a two different type of key for your car.

Dealer told me that when the title comes back it's possible that other keys are still with it in the packet. I hope he's right but I'm not holding my breath. I also didn't get the little metal tag that comes with the keys that has the numbers on it....
