Thermostat installation and broken part

I am changing out my radiator and that has been easy peasy but changing this thermostat is a liitle rough. Anyhow, I broke the ECT switch located on the thermostat housing (water inlet) and I want to know if my car will run without this. Otherwise I am going to have to skip work tomorrow and go to the junkyard to get this part. I need my car for Saturday big time! To make things worse the broken part is laughing at me.

Itíll run, but itíll be running very rich. With the sensor broken and disconnected, the ECU will see infinite resistance, and think the engine is cold. So itíll run the fuel injection rich. It might run better if you install a jumper across the sensor connector wires, so the ECU will see zero resistance, and think the coolant is hot. That might cause it to run poorly until it actually warms up, but itíll run better when it is.
