A/C problem

A/C works, but only if the A/C button is held down OR if defrost mode is chosen. While the A/C button is held down, the green A/C lamp glows, but goes out when released. In defrost mode, the green lamp stays on. So, to cool the car, my only option is defrost mode. Anybody know how to make sense of this?

Thanks!

I had the same problem. It was the AC switch.

Agree - it's most likely the switch.
