Gen1 Highest Mileage on Gen 1's (See first post for a ranking list)

I just cleared 100K on my '99 XLS and it feels like it's just getting started. Guess I lucked out because the previous owner really babyed the car and traded it in for a lexus.

Anyone else have any high mileage GEN 1s' that cleared 200-300K without any major repairs?

Do tell...

BMR's edit:

OK, I skimmed thru this entire thread and compiled a list of all Avalons with >200k miles.

For future consideration:
Gotta be *your* Avalon, not your uncle's, grandpa's, or one you saw in your shop.
Newer Gens OK, but I didn't look on those forums for a thread like this.

If I missed anyone, or made any mistakes, just let me know and I'll make corrections. I'll update this as needed.

Our '95 now has 223k miles on it.

It has needed:
New boots on power steering
Rear rotors
Read struts
Right rear ABS sensor
Catalytic converter (fault of a mechanic under the previous owner).

Other than general maintenece, thats all the car has needed. Catalytic converter and power steering boots at 180k, and the rest was at a 220k tuneup. I should also mention I drive the car from 145k to 175k in the first few years after I got my liscense, and I drove the crap outta it without issue.

My Dad has asked my Mom about getting something newer, but she refuses to give up her Avalon, while he refuses to give up his Previa whenever she brings up a newer van.

My '95 XLS has 183k, no problems since I got it at 140k. Hasn't needed anything outside of general maintenance. Only problem I had was due to bad gas, and it worked itself out with a fresh tank and some injector cleaner. These cars run forever!

Chit, Jagalag, I bought mine with 40K more miles than you have! I hit 156K today.

1997 Avalon sold June 2009 with 183K on it, still looking and running great! 2004 Highlander bought for son with 165K.

USA

Bought a 97 XLS for the wife in March with 182,118 miles on it, it now has 183,687
and runs fantastic. Have only had to have the rear sway bar links and bushings
replaced and a coolant flush since it was contaminated with 2 different types.
Just need to get the front sway bar links and bushing replaced and some new
brake pads and it will be like new again.

Still can`t over the deal I got on this car, listed for only $1795 and after tax and
license it came to $1932.

Actually I bought mine with 67K on the clock in Oct 2004. I think I'm getting my moneys' worth.
Anyone have any major rust problems or the like on their GEN 1s'?

have a 96 gold package , got it at 145k in 99, in 2002 odo stopped at 189. odo started working again finally 1 year ago. so im not sure exact mileage since it only reads like 210k right now, but im sure its over 300k, if not 400k! runs like a top still.

My '98 XLS has 131K with no rust whatsoever. I'm the second owner, and the first owner took very good care of it, as it runs brand new. Couple of scuffs on the outside, but what can ya say. I've had it for a month now.
