Dude, why is all the metal around your rear sway bar black, and not rusted out brown? I think there is something wrong with your car!

I like when project avalon has his Avalon apart for his sway bar diy and all you southerners were freaking out from the rust, and I (and im sure others) were like: what?

I uh, pumped 2 qts of atf our of my trans, and put 2 qts of new atf in. Now I wait until my transmission explodes to give me something else to do. btw, burnt gear oil smells pretty smelly.

I should've taken a pic of that area before I rebuilt the ps pump. There was a good 1/2" coating of crud. I'm gonna change the trans fluid and diff gear oil on the LS tomorrow. Gear oil can make one very nauseous.

bump

TURNS OUT YOU MADE A JIGG007'S DAILY POST THREAD.

The Avalon's Transfer switch, basically it is the AC system automation and distribution.

The outlets are controlled though several relays. AC power is either provided by the 2000W inverter or the bumper mounted inlet. (fun fact: everything full load with all limits removed, this sucker, well sucks 35 amps AC, which is outrageous, normally runs between 8A-15A)

Only runs battery charger while car is plugged in. Provides automatic computer power up and battery de-isolation (ooo, sounds facny) Can supply 45 amps @14V continuously.

Thermostat controls block heater and cabin heater while the car is plugged in, but also has an override mode if I do a cold start (and can't wait for engine heat, but draws a shit-load of power) I have plans to have a timer kick on the inverter and engine block heater an hour before a scheduled leave, like work, where my car is stuck in the middle of a parking lot with no 110V access. But will probably be spring by the time I get off my lazy butt to do that.

If I'm not in the car but the computer(car puter) is on it shuts down the sound system so I don't get any accidental bass tests at 2am due to a CERTAIN SOMEBODY remote-desktoping the carpc.

Toggles trunk LCD monitor on/off with trunk lid

"do not slam shut" Understatement of the CENTURY

next project: added support so the trunk lid doesn't come crashing down without gawdy prop rod.. Maybe even linear actuators... ooo fancy.

haha that's pretty bad ass....minus being able to see the lights from several miles away that would make a pretty good survival vehicle. You could run allot off of that

nice

i dont think so on white. just my opinion,

i always though those rims would look cool if you blacked the lip and recess. an polished or when white on the wheel face.

how do those weigh? i had though of hunting a set of those stockers down

MAN! I read through these posts and say "What Have I Done For My Avalon Lately?" hum... well I forgot to park her in the garage last night so she had to freeze her ass off in yet another way below zero degree night! Than we decided to go to the gas station and I filled her with premium and we took another 400 mile round trip to the city now shes covered in road salt. Tomorrow Im going to wash her its supposed to be like 35 degrees. Than when I get my taxes I want to get a window tint and a kerosene torpedo heater to melt out the large chunks of ice and snow from the front axels... HOWS THAT? I may not have a super nice ass computer or a block heater built into my car but I got an iPod adaptor and Ill hit her with a torpedo heater that ill melt the ice chunks straight out!
