Knock while accelerating

89 4Runner with 3.0. Whole idling it’s quiet if i rev the motor it will have a knock only until i level off the rpm. Say for instance if it’s idling and i rev it up to 2500rpm. It will have a knock from idle to 2500. But when i hold it at 2500 there’s no noise. Sticky lifter maybee??

Welcome to the forums!

How many miles are on the vehicle? Is the Check Engine light on? If so, have you pulled the codes? If you did, what were the exact numbers that you pulled? How good is yer oil? Is the oil level correct? Is there any sludge build up? Have you pulled the valve covers to inspect it? Does the knock appear when the engine coolant is cold or hot? Does the knock appear when the engine is under a load when driving? Are the combustion chambers carboned up? Have you thought about performing a combustion chamber decarbonization?
