3.0 water pump or not

Bought a 4runner with the owner telling me it had a blown head got it home took it to my mechanic and he said no blown head gasket(I planned on having the 3.4 swap done but supplying the engine). He said the radiator was leaking and that was causing it to over heat. Tonight I replaced the radiator, once it was installed I turned it on and my water pump was leaking. Now I’m wondering do I put the $350-$500 in it to have the water pump done just to find out the water wasn’t circulating enough to show a head gasket problem. Then I’m out $350-$500 which could’ve been almost 1/2 of a 3.4? Just getting some opinions.

Also, swapping in a 3.4 is more involved than yer allocating fer. Maybe 3-4 grand when all done and told? It's not a simple drop and bolt it in. You have the wiring harness and ECU to deal with. Fuel and exhaust mods to be performed. Air bag sensor to deal with. Have you noticed that the fuel tank is on the opposite side fer the 3.0 compared to the 3.4? Unless yer working on yer project daily, expect this project to take at least a couple of weeks if not a good month depending on how much time, energy, and finances you put towards it.
