1993 toyota sr5 4runner 4x4 with long-term overheating issue

Hello everyone this is my first post.for me its a honar to be on this forum. I have a question regarding my engine, my 4runner has the 3.0 with 178k and for past 4 yrs ive had nothing but problems with overheating and replacing the heads and gaskets 3 times, the machime shop that worked on my truck here in phoenix must have felt sorry for me ,lol on the 3rd time , they didnt charge me labor. Has anyone ever had this problem?. the shop wont work on it anymore the owner told me you should just replace the whole engine. it keeps on overheating i have replaced everything u can think of. any advice on engine replacement with a newer engine?, thanks
