Hello all. Have a couple things I’m hoping to get help on. I’m a diesel guy and now jumping into the gas world kinda. I have a 91 sr5 4x4 3.0 5 speed. I owned this thing about 5 years ago. Sold it and now bought it back. Back when I first had it I replaced the head gaskets, heads, water pump and timing belt and sold it right after due to financial issues. I got out of those issues and just happened to come across it again.
It has a ~6 inch lift on 33’s. I am noticing and slight “ticking” from engine on drivers side? It runs RICH, on cold mornings it chokes you out and “smokes” like crazy! When warm it will idle at 850 sometimes, 1200 sometimes, 1000 sometimes, and 600 sometimes. Just depends on the sky, the stop light, and where the stars are. And I’m get 8-9 mpg. Hoping someone can give me pointers on what’s going on or maybe they run rich and go through gas like crazy!!
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

FYI: I've had a '92 for years. Have always gotten 13 - 13.5 mpg.
