2014 Camry multiple door lock failure
My 2013 Camry has been having this problem for a year or so. Just turned to 70,000 miles last month. The problem is intermittent, some locks work part of the time, and if they all seem to get into sync, they all work. Then sometimes even the drivers door will not work and I must open manually with the key.
I have read that there are many with these failed actuators and the suggestion is to have each door actuator replaced. I was quoted the $650 range for 2 doors by my Toyota dealer, where I purchased new and have had maintain and even purchased new tires.
Because so many are having these issues, and it seems to be an off and on issue, Toyota should step up and have a recall. Until then, at 71 years old, I will manually lock and unlock. I am even training my frequent passengers to do this. We all wonder why this is a problem for Toyota. I still wonder, because my problem is off and on, if there a different problem. Until I read something different I will just take the word of my dealer that it is the actuators and manually open and lock. That is really sad!!!
