Aftermarket rail installed on 2019 highlander LE PLUS

I’m not a sunroof person, that’s why I chose LE PLus. Yet I love the rail on XLE trim. So Give LE plus a XLE LOOK, quality definitely not as perfect as OEM... but Fck it... lol

I'm with you on the sunroof thing. I've seen too many post about problems dealing with leaks and whatnot. Back in the day, I didn't think I could own a car without a sunroof, till I had to deal with leaks..... what a pain.

I do like the rail look as well.

older style roof rails on 2014...

I have an LE Plus, 2014 version. Starting with that year, HL roof rails attach to car top along the whole length. That is, no access underneath. That is, no way to tie things on. That is, the roof rails are useless trim items.

Cross rails offer some functionality. My understanding is that the Toyota cross rails are non-adjustable. Marginally useless/useful.

The OP has added the standards roof rails to his LE. That looks great, but doesn't add anything to the function. Does anyone know of a product for the more modern (3rd gen, 2014-2019) HL that only attaches at a few points (allowing one to fit a string or rope or strap underneath)? Or are they all the non-functional trim pieces?

The product I want is available for 2013 and earlier HLs. Toyota (and the aftermarket) seem to think that this SUV is never used for Utility.

I won't buy another HL because of this. Very frustrating. I have this huge powerful vehicle and I can't get a 4x8 home from Lowes. Grrrrr.

2014 HL LE Plus. With, like, zero options...
Wait! It has a chrome bumper protector!

YES, somehow the rail is for decoration only if you dont put the crossbar on.
