http://thenextweb.com/insider/2016/0...e-data-breach/ more information for those who wish to know, but basically it comes down to lax and or outdated security at Vertical Scope. Hopefully no payment or financial information was stolen for members who purchased memberships at forums.

Changing my password isn't a big deal for me. What is, however, is the fact that there has not been a reason given for making this reset a necessity.

It's because they are using vulnerable forum software. vbulletin is no longer supported reliably, the "writers" of it are no where to be found.

I had to put my new password in three times to get back into the forum. I guess it is busy this morning.

One of your admin staff on another forum says that the vulnerability was through a third party plug in, can you confirm this and let us know what plug in it was? There's other forums we all frequent that run VB that could be running that plug in still.

Thumbs down I don't like the password

I used to have a simple password which I could easily use and remember now I have a very long computer generated password which is very long and complicated. How do I go about resetting my
password.

Login issues

Gawd, after trying to log in about a gazillion times, I finally clicked reset password after being locked out for 15 mins. You think they could have posted a note at the name and password fields saying, don't bother trying to use your password. We effed up and have made everyone vulnerable to identity theft.
