2000 Toyota Tundra V8 Clicking Noise

Hello Toyota Nation,

I own a 2000 Toyota Tundra V8 and am having a clicking noise problem when I am accelerating. It clicks more rapidly when I step on the gas pedal.

Any suggestions or other threads that have solved this problem with their 2000 Toyota Tundra?

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums!

I need more info, please.

2WD or 4WD? Auto or manual transmission? How many miles on the vehicle? Any aftermarket modifications or installs like a lift or suspension? Is the click from the engine or drivetrain? Could you safely shoot some video and post it? Thanks!

It's a 2WD automatic transmission with 313k miles. The clicking noise comes from the driver side when I push the accelerating pedal and becomes more louder/faster as I accelerate faster. I don't know if it's the engine or the drivetrain.

You can easily isolate either or by shifting the transmission to neutral when it's safe to do so while yer at speed. If the clicking dies down when the engine idles, then you'll have a good idea that it's an engine click. If it doesn't, then it's gonna be most likely a transmission/drivetrain issue. Are you sure it's not a bearing or wheel assembly?

I'd ask if the noise is there after an oil change? What kind of oil and filter are you using? Does the temperature of the engine make a difference? Can you hear the noise at idle at all and if you can is it louder from under the hood or down by the oil pan?

The more details you can give the forum, the better the help you'll get...
