If the left side of your steering wheel controls donít work at all then you need to ground a wire on the steering wheel control. Scroll up, I took a pic of the wire to ground.

Do NOT clip it. Just add a ground to that wire

Aftermarket Dash Kit?

Everything works!!! So glad I donít have to look at Entune anymore.

Btw, has anyone seen the adapter for the factory usb? I have one from the previous generation and it is not the same connector.

Very nice.
Can you post a brighter picture so we can see the fit and finish around the edges. Maybe in sunlight or something?

Also how is the screen brightness at night? Can you adjust it?

Do you have a complete parts and price list (including the head unit)?

This is very exciting news.

Aftermarket Dash Kit?

Fit was pretty good. Finish is as perfect to the original as you can get imho. Had to adjust the head unit a bit to be center of the dash kit. The stereo mounts directly to the dash. The trim clips into place where the old trim is. You have to take the seat belt/air bag indicator and hvac controls out of the old trim piece (just held in by a few clips, easy to remove) and snap them into the new trim. Iíll have to dig out the email I got from Metra since there is a misprint dealing with the reverse and parking brake wires on the harness. There is also a mistake on the aswc-1 wiring that is addressed in a post earlier.

Parts:
Head unit - pioneer avh-w4400nex (around $550, I had this in my 2012 Camry hybrid, has wireless CarPlay and android auto)

All the things below was ordered from Abt.com (at the time I ordered, the harness and trim was only found at abt. I ordered everything from the same place even though you can find some of the things below cheaper at different places)

Wiring harness - Metra 70-1765 $39.99
Steering wheel controls- Axxess Aswc-1 $69.99
12v to 6v camera step down - AX-CAM6V $19.98
Dash Kit - Metra 99-8266BLHG $69.99
Metra antenna cable - 40LX11 $17.98

Here is the screenshot of the email I got from Metra about the misprint in the instructions

Finally done. Had to wait on different radio. Pay attention to the radio you select. First one had a knob but it was too far back and did not fit right.

Could not even use the left side of knob. It was a Sony Ax210

New Sony is the AX5000 which has 2 USBs.
Doesnít seem to be a stock USB adapter yet.

I cheated on mine I took out the factory USB adapter out and put a buttload of soft electrical tape around it, then wedged it into the whole. Then zip tied it in the right position where itís forward the most and the door can close. Normally I hate doing it but since there is no other adapter I can find oh well. You canít really tell though. I can take out a iPhone cable and close the door whenever I want to.

That looks amazing. Super clean. I was considering the AX5000. Its one of the cheaper capacitive touch screen options. How do you like it? Does the maps in Android Auto support multi touch (pinch to zoom)?

I'm almost willing to sell other hobby equipment to fund this. Its like night and day difference from what Toyota supplied.

It actually works really well. Faster than the AX210 despite its cheaper. For me fit and finish had to be right, hence putting two radios in to find the best look. The screen is great and can be read at all times night and day. Very important to add a dimmer wire (use the led on top of the glove box). It took me about 20 minutes to get the best alignment with the dashkit.

I use it with BT and CarPlay so Iím not sure how android auto works. Make sure you update the AX5000 since it improves some sound issues. Oddly enough a BT adapter sounded better than every radio I have had installed (stock with adapter and two aftermarket) the BT adapter had very even sound and VERY low bass. The Sony ax5000 does have better overall sound quality and better details/sound stage. Easiest way to describe it is it makes my 2 12 inch subs sound like 2 10ís. Overall happy

I’m not sure what I am doing wrong. I am using the pre wired harness from the 1765 harness to go into the ascw1 but it’s not flashing the led. So I use the one that came with it. Tap the red into power and ground black. Which wire is the steering wheel control. One more thing. My stepdown for my camera those three are all connected fine & the video input is to my brown rca. Still get not video from camera? And what the hell do I attach this antenna cable to 😂A0B89C3E-9D8F-4150-90E1-F3C3CD552D09_1552676304905.jpg
