15x7 vs 14x7 + tire size plz halp

Hey guys,

New to forum, glad I have somewhere to talk to fellow yota geeks. I have an 86 2wd pickup and I want to buy aftermarket wheels for it. Heres the catch, I am a fan of stock ride height and bigger sidewall tires. I know, weird right? sorry guys. Hope you can still help me. Okay, stock wheel diameter us 26.1. I am trying to stay as close to it as possible. This is where I am stuck, do I want an inch in rim or an inch in tire, is 15 going to look too big, is the ride going to be too hard, is the 14s going to look too small, idkkkk I am stressing over this

TLDR;

Option A: 14x7 with 215/70r14
Option B: 15x7 with 215/65r15

Do anyone have pictures of 15s with stock ride height and similar tire size, or any pictures of anything at all? anything helps, thanks thanks thanks!

Welcome to the forums!

I guess one of yer local tire shops would be able to provide more assistance to you than you would expect since they deal with rims and tires all day long. Give yer local Discount Tire a visit and see what they have to offer as far as information goes.

I doubt you'd notice the difference.

Wink

Doing a quick look up on Discount Tire's website, there are 10 available types of tires in the 14" size while there is 26 available types of tires in the 15" size. It might come down to available tires and the cost.
