Ist Gen HL

Hi! New to this forum, I picked up a nice 2003 HL ltd. Now , on other sites, these cars are considered soccer -mom rides. Which is EXACTLY why I want to "toughen" it up a little. Any mild lift kits available? How big a tire can I run height wise? Body accessories such as fender flares? Exhaust? I will be driving this in the mud occasionally. Will any other vehicle manufacturers stock wheels fit? Been a mechanic for decades and love these cars. PLEASE don't tell me to just go buy a 4Runner! Thanks!

Don't buy a 4Runner, buy a Land Cruiser instead.

You want a "truck" buy a truck. The HL is basically a tall Camry.

You could scan thru the pic thread looking for ideas. A lot of the pic links are dead, but half do work. There’s one up a ways with some good looking wheels.

Cool

Only a cheese ball would mod a Highlander. I've seen many attempts to do so on the web and NONE look any good.
